Conversation with Her ft. mandygioh
IRVINE QUEK
How do you define "Her Moment" in the context of your dual roles as a creative director and interior designer?
MANDY GIOH
"Her " Moment" Is when everything aligns when my experiences as both a Creative Director and an Interior Designer inspire and complement each other seamlessly. It's the realization that creativity isn't confined to one medium; instead, it's about understanding how visuals, space, and storytelling work together to create impact. Whether it's shaping a brand's identity or designing a space that feels intentional, it's about crafting experiences that feel true, cohesive, and deeply personal."
IQ What's a Moment in your career where you felt particularly proud of your work or vision
MG One defining moment was when I saw a project come to life exactly as I envisioned —where every element, from storytelling to execution, felt seamless. Whether it was a campaign that sparked conversations or a space that made people feel at home, those moments of connection and impact remind me why I do what I do. It's not just about aesthetics; it's about creating meaning. What makes it even more rewarding is seeing how these projects spark conversations within the community-whether it's inspiring new perspectives, fostering collaboration, or empowering other creatives to push their own boundaries.
"WHETHER IT'S INSPIRING NEW PERSPECTIVES, FOSTERING COLLABORATION, OR EMPOWERING OTHER CREATIVES TO PUSH THEIR OWN BOUNDARIES."
IQ How do you find inspiration for your designs, and how do you incorporate your unique perspective as a woman into your projects?
MG Conversations and listening to different perspectives are a huge source of inspiration for me. Engaging with others-whether creatives, clients, or even everyday interactions-helps me see things from new angles and uncover ideas I might not have considered. I'm also very visually driven, so I try to strike a balance between absorbing visuals and engaging in dialogue. This mix of seeing and listening helps me refine my creative approach, ensuring that my work isn't just aesthetically strong but also deeply connected to real experiences and emotions."
